Three paths
The brain keeps three commitments. Software and systems — low-latency infrastructure built boring, open, and auditable. Markets and quantitative research — instruments, not faith: prices, spreads, and backtests with published assumptions. Political economy and philosophy — trace the incentives, then rewrite the payoffs so ordinary work pays.
Each path publishes its method before its conclusions, its misses alongside its wins, and its data in a form a student can rerun. That is what thinking alongside means outside the essay — in code, in markets, in the republic.
